Why Men Pull Away in Relationships When Things Seem to Be Going Well

Have you ever wondered why men pull away in relationships when things seem to be going well? A lot of times, men will do things that just don't make any sense. A man may be coming on strong and aggressively pursuing you for a few weeks, and then suddenly seem to have very little interest. Other times, you may be dating someone for months and everything seems to be going great when they suddenly become more aloof and disinterested.

If you have ever been in a situation like those described above, you know how frustrating and hurtful it can be, but why do men do this? There may be a number of reasons why men pull away in relationships. Some men are just scared little boys inside and they are not ready for the commitment of a serious relationship, even if they think they are. Another possible reason why men pull away in relationships is because things are not as fun and exciting as they were in the beginning. The beginning stages of a serious relationship create a lot of strong emotions; there is nothing as fun and exciting as falling in love. Even if a man has strong feelings for a woman, he sometimes craves the excitement and intense feelings he had when he first realized he was falling for you.

Of course there can be many other reasons why men pull away in relationships. People change, their priorities change, and the only way you will know for sure why a person starts to check out of a relationship is to ask them. Of course, even if you ask them, there is no guarantee that you will get a straight answer. The best thing to do when someone starts to pull away is to simply give them a little bit of space.

When a man starts to pull away in a relationship, a woman usually responds by either pursuing the man more aggressively, or backing off completely and not making any effort to talk to him. Both of these tactics can be counterproductive. If the man is pulling away and you pursue him too aggressively you may end up pushing him away. On the other hand, if you also withdraw from the relationship, it will die.

You need to find the middle ground between aggressive pursuit and completely retreating. Talk to your boyfriend about the relationship and how you are feeling about it but also let him know that you will respect his wishes if he needs space. Your man may just need some time to figure out his feelings before taking a relationship to the next level. If he has lost interest in the relationship for whatever reason, then it may simply be time to move on. However, by communicating with your man and giving him the space he needs, you are giving your relationship the best odds of success.
